Vicenza: free time and unexpected encounter with the fourth exhibition of floriculture.
Each of us spends his free time doing an activity chosen at will, but if you perform different actions there are things that unite my and your spare time: it is not subject to obligations imposed by anyone and it is a moment of pleasure as well as of rest.
The time off may be occupied by a simple walk, and becomes even more enjoyable if you come across an unexpected event.
Whenever I go in the city of Vicenza, I always run in some open-air market, fair or event.
By now 10 days ago I discovered on Sunday in the streets and squares of the historical center, the exhibition of floriculture. Flowering plants, fruit, herbs, green and flowering plants, succulents, vegetables and garden decorations in every corner. The event is repeated every year in the month of April. The shops were open for a good 80% even if it was a Sunday afternoon.
This is a picture of the Piazza dei Signori, the centerpiece of the exhibition. Other banquets were in Contra Garibaldi, Piazza Castello and Piazza S. Lorenzo.
The occasion of the exhibition, has allowed me to see live, for the first time, the plants of capers and artichokes.
It also gave me the opportunity to meet the plant called Tillandsia, a plant without roots underground, thanks to this special feature has now become an ornament of my house. It seems that the Tillandsia not only be able to capture pollutants in the air, but also to absorb and eliminate them, digesting them: in short, it feeds on particles pollutants. I had to buy it.
The weather tried to impose obstacles to my freedom, strong wind and rain that alternated in the sun, but if you want to laze should not be conditioned or stress by anyone or anything ..... so we went to my favorite confectionery in the city to taste the tea and pastries.
Of course I do not always come across something interesting, always better to start with a destination already decided or indicative.
Can you recommend me some event that will take place in your city?
Or do you have a tale of an aimless stroll, which has turned into another because of a meeting?
